What Makes a Password Truly Uncrackable?
Modern graphics card clusters (GPUs) can test over 100 billion SHA-256 hashes per second. An 8-character password consisting of only numbers or lowercase letters can be cracked in under a minute. However, increasing the length to 16+ characters with diverse character pools or using a 4-word Diceware passphrase raises the required attempts to $2^{90}+$ combinations, rendering brute-force attacks mathematically impossible within the lifespan of the universe.
